Refinancing TSP loan

0

Q. Is it possible to refinance a TSP loan I got about a year ago? I’m having a hard time adjusting my budget to pay over $400, and my cost of living has increased.

A. It is possible as long as you do not exceed the 5-year maximum term for a general purpose loan or the 15-year maximum term for a residential loan. There are no restrictions on the number of reamortizations that you can have during the life of a loan. You can reamortize your loan on the TSP website or by calling the TSP.
