To Medicare Part B or not to Medicare Part B

0

Q. My husband is retired from the United States Postal Service. He has Medicare Parts A and B. A friend told me that my husband does not need Medicare Part B because he has BCBS through FEHB.  Is this true?

A. The decision to choose Medicare Part B is a personal matter. Most federal retirees decline that option, unless they are aware of (or anticipate) specific medical needs that are better covered by it.
