Q. I am a newly hired career postal employee. I just started contributions to several funds in the market.
I would like to know if the percentages that I have chosen fit my status.
G-40%
C-28%
S-8%
F-6%
I-4%
L2030-14%

Allocation
L2030-50%
G-50%

A. Tell you how to invest your life savings knowing only that you work for USPS? As if there is one correct investment allocation for all USPS employees! There is no way to determine the proper investment allocation from the information you’ve provided. If you knew how to determine the answer to your question, I assume that you wouldn’t have asked. So, the best I can recommend is that you invest all of your TSP money in the L Fund that most closely corresponds to your life expectancy. Figuring out what you can safely expect in retirement from this allocation is another, much more difficult, task.
