Proceeds of a rollover IRA to TSP

0

Q. My aunt passed away recently and bequeathed me approximately $50,000 from a rollover IRA. Upon receipt, may I deposit these funds into my TSP account? Are you aware of any tax implications if I do?

A. This inheritance will come in the form a “Beneficiary IRA,” which must be kept separate from any other retirement plan accounts since the rules for distributing its contents are unique. Unfortunately, it can’t be added to your TSP account.
